In plain language

What an extraction involves

Sometimes a tooth, including a wisdom tooth, needs to come out, because of damage, infection, crowding or impaction.

We do this gently, keep you comfortable throughout, and where it matters, plan how to replace the tooth so your bite stays sound.

Why timing and planning matter

A failing or impacted tooth can cause pain, infection and damage to neighbouring teeth if left. Removing it at the right time, and planning any replacement, protects the rest of your mouth.

As gentle as possible

Comfort and calm are the priority.

Prevents bigger problems

Stops infection or damage spreading.

A care plan for the gap

We discuss replacement so function is kept.

Is this right for you?

An extraction may be needed if…

  • A tooth is badly decayed or broken beyond repair
  • A wisdom tooth is impacted or causing pain
  • Infection can't be resolved another way
  • Crowding requires a tooth to be removed
  • A tooth is loose from advanced gum disease
A calm, step-by-step process
